FAQ
Questions people ask before booking
If your question isn’t here, email us — we’ll answer straight, within one business day.
What exactly is a mobile digital billboard truck?
It’s a truck built around a large, high-brightness LED screen. Your advertisement plays on the screen while the truck drives its route, or parks somewhere with heavy foot traffic. Think of it as a billboard that goes to your audience instead of waiting for your audience to drive past it.
Do I share the truck with other advertisers?
Most advertisers take a shared or rotating spot — your ad rotates with others and ValleyGO plans the route. Rotations are capped at 10 advertisers per day, so your message still gets real airtime rather than vanishing into a long loop.
What can actually play on the screen?
More than a static poster. The LED displays support static images, videos with audio, slideshows and even live streaming. Retargeting and geofencing are available too, along with proof of performance at the end of the campaign.
How much does a campaign cost?
A shared spot is $300, and during our introductory test events spots are offered at a Pilot rate of $250 per spot/day. Want more rotation? Buy several spots for the same day.
Full and corporate sponsorships of our campaign events give you total exclusivity on the truck — contact us for pricing on those. See the pricing section for the full picture.
What are campaign events?
Dated event days tied to a cause in the Columbus community — Fountain City Classic Weekend, Veterans Day Weekend and Broadway Holiday Weekend. You can take a shared spot alongside other advertisers, or sponsor the day outright.
Full sponsorship gets you every side-screen spot plus the back screen and a targeted social media campaign. See campaign events for dates and causes. Got an idea for a cause we should run? Suggest it.
Can I put something personal on the truck?
Yes. Up to one Special Announcement Spot per day is set aside for personal shout-outs — birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, engagements, congratulations and similar celebrations. It's the same $300 per spot (or the Pilot rate during launch events), first-come first-served.
How long is a campaign day?
A standard day is [X] hours of driving on your agreed route, with a professional driver for the whole shift. Longer days and split shifts (say, morning and evening commute only) can be arranged — just ask.
What artwork do you need from me?
Every ad needs two sizes: Format A at 2000 x 1200 and Format B at 2000 x 1000, as a JPG or MP4 — video can carry audio. The full Size and Format Standards cover file types and the Back Screen. Keep type large and high-contrast, since people read it from a moving car in a couple of seconds. One idea per screen plus a clear call to action works best.
We upload and update your creative as part of your run. If you need the ad designed, design help is available for an additional fee — just ask when you book. Upload them from the “Send your artwork” link in your booking confirmation.
All ads are subject to ValleyGO’s approval before they run, so every message reflects the standards of the community we serve.
Can I change my ad mid-campaign?
Yes, and it’s free. Because the screens are digital there’s nothing to reprint, so you can swap creative as often as you like — different offers on different days, or a change of message partway through.
How far in advance should I book?
Sooner is better, especially around major local events when trucks get booked out. That said, we can often turn a campaign around in a few days. Ask and we’ll tell you honestly what’s open.
How do I know the truck actually ran my route?
Every campaign includes a GPS route log plus dated photographs of your creative live on the truck. You get the proof at the end of the campaign, so you can check what you paid for was delivered.
How many people will see my ad?
Impressions depend entirely on the route, the time of day and the day of the week — a downtown lunch route and a rural evening route are not comparable. We’ll give you a realistic estimate for your specific plan rather than a headline number.
Be wary of anyone quoting one big impression figure without asking anything about your campaign first.
What areas do you cover?
We’re piloting in Columbus, GA and Phenix City, AL, across the surrounding Chattahoochee Valley. Expansion into LaGrange, GA, Opelika, AL and Auburn, AL is planned. See the coverage page, or just ask about your area — if we can’t reach it we’ll say so.
Some locations have local restrictions on where commercial vehicles can stop or idle. We’ll flag anything that isn’t workable and suggest the closest legal alternative.
What happens if it rains?
The screens are weather-rated and run in the rain, so normal weather doesn’t stop a campaign. If conditions are genuinely unsafe to drive, we’ll contact you and reschedule the affected day. [Confirm ValleyGO’s exact weather policy.]
Do you run political or advocacy advertising?
Mobile billboards suit political work well because you can target specific precincts on specific days and update the message as the calendar moves. All ads are subject to ValleyGO’s approval before they run. [Confirm deposit terms and any content restrictions for political bookings.]
Can I book more than one truck?
Tell us how many you want in your quote request and we’ll check availability for your dates. Multiple trucks let you cover several areas at once, or dominate a single area during a big event.
